I had signed onto the Ravelry queue so long ago I had totally forgotten all about it. I read at The Panopticon about other knitters and their agonizing wait to be among the chosen and found a link for checking position in the waiting line. But wonder of wonders--later that day I had a Ravelry email and the great news is that
I'm in!
I've set up a profile and have started exploring a bit. It's great--enter a project and you can link to others working on the same pattern. You can bring photos over from Flickr, which makes it easy to integrate everything. Special interest groups are forming, making it fun and easy to link up with the like-minded.
Yeah, yeah--another internet time sucker upper. But it's fun and so seamless... Just like knitting in the round, har har.
My question is: is someone (far more knowledgeable than I am) going to step up to the plate and set up something like this for quilters? Would that ever be fun!
