Quilts in the Park was happening in Whitewater today and some of the quilting peeps and I made plans to meet to take in the event and do lunch. It was a perfect day for such goings-on--overcast and cool. I'm sure that made it much easier on the vendors. Not to mention the attendees.

Diane and Mary catch up.

A scrappy ninepatch. What could be simpler? But it drew all of us in like it was magnetized.

Diane and Renee analyzing.

A vendor explains a star technique from
this book that yields an eight-pointed star and avoids the dreaded set-in seam. AND clever cutting also yields an extra block. Waste not, want not!
Sure, we're suckers. Absolutely no sales resistance. We all immediately decided we NEED the book.

The event raffle quilt. I could find a spot for this very easily. Waiting for my call from the raffle committee.....
As if. Sigh.

On the way home I snapped some pictures of my world.

Victorian house in Palmyra, Wisconsin.

Driving by the lake in Palmyra.

Retro transportation in Eagle, Wisconsin.

Also in Eagle--a great porch for sitting.
Yup, it's pretty rural around here.

What a delightful day!
Oh I wish I would have known about this! DH went up to Madison yesterday for some work meetings - and we drive through Whitewater, I could have played there all day while he worked!
I have to get that book! You find such awesome things!
