A knitting milestone has been reached. Kimono Shawl Number Two is at the halfway point. Progress has slowed since Lucy's arrival, but I almost don't care how long it takes. I really enjoy working on it, I have the pattern internalized so that I can talk while working on it, and it will be done in plenty of time for shawl-wearing season next fall.
The Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift yarn has that same clean lanolin-y scent as the Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift I made Kimono Shawl Number One from. Every once in a while I have to stop and take a big hit of that scent.
This is the clear sign of a fiber-mad person.
Lucy may be at the equivalent of the Terrible Twos. We ran her around outside with balls and toys for a long time today. Then it was hard for her to settle down, the humans became frazzled, and we had a teeny little meltdown this evening. When the kids were little, we used to call it The Arsenic Hour.
I wish I could give her a bottle, like a baby. That was always a nice calming time in the evening for all concerned. Did the next best thing--held her on my lap and she quieted down eventually. All is peaceful now.

Kathie, your knitting is just divine, I can only dream of the day I'll be able to work up a pattern like that. I love the colour too, it's gorgeous. Sounds like you're having fun with Lucy, lucky she's the most darling little thing, makes the 'terrible twos' slightly easier to bear.
*hugs*

Love the shawl and the colors! I admire lace patterns but have never been able to convince myself I can do one.
I'll have to remember the "Arsenic Hour" my almost two year old daughter does that just about every night -- manic activity before having to go to bed. I live in hopes that the terrible two's DO end.
Your almost-shawl is beautiful. Reminds me of something my mother knitted once, an afghan I think. She really enjoyed doing knitted lace in her later years. The color(s) of your yarn are just lovely.
My Mini Poodle-Terror mix used to have his arsenic hour too. He's approaching 4 now and has calmed down considerably. Still gets wound up once in a while but we don't see that nearly as often as when he was younger (thank goodness!). Hang in there!
Your shawl is lovely. I like the look of things like that, but wonde if I would wear it.
Wow - it is beautiful!
OK, fabric is washed, torn in half and cut into 6's!.... Now to find time to start layering together and cutting!!!!!!
